Orisa Cycle
I am a descendant of Nigerian and Cameroonian Africans once enslaved in South Carolina and Alabama. Both sides of my lineage traveled the great migration north where I was born and raised in Detroit Michigan. There is a community that also knows me by my Ifa names Ifayosola and Osujaiye.

My vehicle for my storytelling is a harmonious marriage of hip hop and IseIse for the use of radically imagining Black love, liberation, and freedom. I am future folklorist of Blackness largely Black women and girls. A purveyor of story and truth, the cost is faith. A carrier, conductor, and conjureror of story A cultural worker who uses theatre as my tool for healing and transformation.
I create my work enveloped in a community of artists and creatives that reflect the vast style and genius of the diaspora in which I am a member and student of. My life is a braided prayer of text, performance, and ritual towards individual and communal liberation. I thrive in my own duality. I write at the crossroads of the divine and mundane. I'm a work in progress and a masterpiece. Storytelling and performance have been my gospel since I was 7 years old. I learned to be a carrier, conductor, and conjurer of the story.
